Host Family Program
Host Unique Opportunity to Participate with the
San Diego Stars
Do you have room in your house for a college baseball player that is coming to San Diego for the summer? The San Diego Stars needs your assistance. We are actively trying to place our players in homes that will help us develop these athletes not only into top baseball players but quality people.
For our part the San Diego Stars recruit athletes that have shown maturity on the field and in the classroom at their respective universities. We schedule their days/nights during the summer so that they are either working on Stars’ baseball field, practicing or playing games. When hosting a player he welcomes the opportunity to aid his hosting family with errands or any other assistance that the family might need while he is there. If you have a young ball player in the household the host player becomes a personal instructor for baseball and a tutor in academics. Naturally all family members obtain free passes to all stars ball games and events.
Those interested in becoming a host family should expect to provide a comfortable place to store the player’s belongings and a comfortable place for them to sleep. The players are required to live under your rules and to be a responsible member of the household.
The host family schedule will be from May 25 to August 1. For many of the days within that period the players will be on the road playing games, sometimes for days at a time. Still, it is very comforting to the players knowing they have a nice place to come home to.
